1920-2018

Helen went to be with the Lord on May 19 where she was a patient at Doctor's Hospital West in Columbus.

She was born in a small Southern Ohio town to Guy and Minerva Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Travis Elswick, her daughter Carol Martin, her son Guy Martin, her brother Robert Davis, her sister- in- law Jerri Davis and her brother Donald Davis.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Wojcik, her grandson Jason Radcliffe (Jody) her granddaughter Natalie Bernens (Adam) her stepchildren, Merle Elswick (Bill), Gary Elswick (Nancy), Teresa Dancy (Paul), and Rick Elswick and Ed Elswick (Linda) her great grandchildren Jackson, Davis, Cooper, Kash and Aria, her Sister- in- law Gladys Davis and nieces and nephew.

She was a very bright and positive person who always saw the best in people. She was originally from Chillicothe, Ohio but she has lived in Hilliard Ohio for The past 8 years. She was retired from Ohio Public Employees Retirement system where she Worked at Orient State Institute for many years. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chillicothe and she also volunteered at the Cancer Shop In Chillicothe. She had a winter home with Travis for a few years in Deland, Florida but her heart was in Ohio. She was definitely a homebody and she loved her friends and church in Chillicothe.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City Ohio from 10-11 a.m. Thursday May 24. The funeral service will immediately follow. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery 4760 Winchester Pike Columbus Ohio.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Central Ohio Diabetes Assn. 1100 Dennison Ave. Columbus Ohio 43201 in memory of Helen's daughter Carol Martin, who suffered from diabetes for Many years before passing in 1976.
