Helen "Pat" Gearheart

Helen “Pat” Gearheart, born April 16, 1930, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away on September 24, 2026, in Erlanger, Kentucky. She lived a long life centered on faith, family, and devotion to those she loved most.

Pat loved being a wife and mother, and that calling shaped the heart of her life. She was especially devoted to her family, which remained her proudest accomplishment. She treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the love she gave them will remain a lasting part of their lives. She also loved being a minister’s wife, a role she embraced with care and commitment.

She found joy in traveling with a Southern Gospel Group throughout Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan. Those travels reflected both her faith and her love of fellowship. In quieter moments, she enjoyed working on word puzzles, a simple pleasure that brought her happiness.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Martha E. Kunkel and her husband Robert, Sandra L. Kutanon and her husband Bancha, and Patricia L. Burt. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Andrew Karuchit and his wife Jessica, Bryan L. Karuchit and his wife Valerie, Joshua A. Zimmer, Jade J. Roberts and her husband Olu, Jillian Wiseman and her husband Jerry, Jasmine Mortimer and her husband Austin, Janae Kutanon and Sam Camacho, Jordan Kutanon, Darell K. Burt, and Cory M. Burt.

Her legacy continues as well in her great-grandchildren, Andrew D. Karuchit, Cassidy H. Karuchit, Celina Roberts, Elijah Roberts, Lucas Wiseman, Chole Wiseman, Peyton Wiseman, and Bryan K. Burt. She is also survived by her brother, David Justus, and her sister, Sandy Blum. The love of this large family stands as a beautiful reflection of the life she built and the care she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Gearheart; her father, Joseph H. Justus; her mother, Martha Ellen Justus; her brothers, Joseph Justus, Bill Justus, Tony Justus, Bob Justus, Larry Justus, Donald Justus, and Dick Justus; and her sisters, Joan Justus and Sally Kennedy.

Visitation will be held on October 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio (614-539-6166). A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen “Pat” Gearheart will be remembered with love for her faith, her dedication to her family, and the warmth she shared throughout her life. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
