Hilliary R. Hatchett III November 21, 1954 – July 29, 2026

Hilliary "Larry" R. Hatchett III was born on November 21, 1954, in Richmond, Virginia, to Hilliary R. Hatchett Jr. and Elizabeth Hatchett (née Barrett). He peacefully departed this life on July 29, 2026, and was preceded in death by his beloved parents.

Larry was raised in Hempstead, Long Island, New York, with his parents and brother, Gordon. Growing up in a family of educators and musicians, he developed a lifelong love for music, spending his youth playing the piano, trumpet, and enjoying days at Jones Beach. His passion led him to Columbus, Ohio, where he attended Capital University's Musical Arts program. His talent earned him the opportunity to perform as a trumpeter with Patti LaBelle and later compose and perform with the Ohio Players and Sister Sledge.

In Columbus, Larry met the love of his life, Pamela, and together they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage while raising their family. He found great joy in teaching his daughters to play the piano and violin. Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit and a determination to "make it," Larry built a successful career, embraced leadership opportunities, and enjoyed life's rewards, especially golf and his beloved BMWs.

Larry leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Pamela G. Hatchett; his daughters, Daia Hatchett-Jackson (Jai) and Amber Dean (Brian Barrett); his brother, Gordon Hatchett; grandchildren Sauren, Jordan, Jayda, Jaiden, and Hilliary; great-grandchildren Alaia-Eve and Damien; sisters-in-law Virginia Parks and Toni Boelter; special friends Bob Jackson, Hector Maldonado, Chris Dawkins, Darrell Jones, and Terry Wilkes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Larry's legacy lives on through the music he shared, the family he loved, and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to CorsoCare Hospice and to the physicians, nurses, aides, and the caring staff of StoryPoint Nursing Home for the compassion, dignity, and loving care shown to Larry throughout his final journey. Your kindness will always be remembered.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 15, 2026 at The Way of Holiness Church, 1088 E. Weber Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43211; Officiant Minister Tracie Wilson presiding. Visitation with Family at 10AM – 11AM, with Service to follow at 11AM. Lunch will be provided by the Family at the Church following the service.
