Ilene Schlaegel, 88 of Center Village, passed away on December 20, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 28, 1928 in Gahanna, OH. Ilene loved going to MCL, Westerville, to see her special friends. Survived by sons Bob (Alice) Schlaegel, Ron (Linda) Schlaegel and Gary (Cindy) Schlaegel, daughter-in-law Sunday Schlaegel, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and special friend Rosa Starcher. Preceded in death by husband Luther Schlaegel, son James Schlaegel and grandson Mark Schlaegel.
Funeral service on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH. Burial to follow at Fancher Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr., #260, Columbus, Ohio 43231.
