Ira Wilson Rhoades, 94, of Columbus, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at Grant Medical Center.
He was born September 22, 1920 in Zaleski, OH son of the late Charles and Mary Kimmey Rhoades.
In addition to his parents, Ira was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Rhoades; son, Larry Rhoades; grandson, Todd Rhoades.
He served in the Army during WWII.
Ira is survived by his sons, Bob (Sherri) Rhoades and Steven Rhoades; daughters, Sheryl (Don) Meade and Julie (Gary) Tittle; sister, Northa White; daughter-in-law, Linda Rhoades; ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Mifflin Twp. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Ave. Columbus, OH 43201 or The American Cancer Society Central Region Office-FRAO, 5555 Frantz Rd. Dublin, OH 43017.
