Jack E. Ross February 28, 1946 – July 19, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack E. Ross, age 80, of Commercial Point, Ohio, who passed away surrounded by family and friends on July 19, 2026.
Jack was born on February 28, 1946, in Nelsonville, Ohio. Throughout his life, he became known as a true "jack of all trades." There wasn't much that Jack couldn't build, repair, or improve. His talent, determination, and strong work ethic made him someone family, friends, and neighbors could always count on.
Jack owned and operated his own body shop, where he took great pride in repairing and restoring automobiles. He had a special passion for painting motorcycles, combining skill and artistry to create beautiful custom pieces. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and was happiest when building, fixing, or creating something with his hands.
Jack never met a stranger. He loved talking with people, sharing stories, and reminiscing about life's adventures. One of Jack's favorite pastimes was taking quarters from the hands of family and friends—a simple gesture that always brought a smile and became one of the many little things everyone came to expect from him. Whether he was telling stories, sharing a laugh, or collecting another quarter, Jack had a way of making memories that will be cherished forever.
Jack is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Griffith (Charles Griffith-Husband); his beloved grandchildren, Amanda Griffith and Charlie Ray Griffith (Kailee Griffith-Wife); and his cherished great-grandchildren, Riylen Ray Griffith, Weston Johnson, and Kenlee Johnson; nieces and nephews, Janet Ross-Draudt (Scott Draudt-Husband), James Ross Jr.( Tanya Ross-Wife), and Kimberly Burris-Pent (Mike Pent-Husband); and great nieces and nephews, Alex and Hunter Crabtree and Ethan Ross.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman L. Ross and Anna L. Ross; his siblings, James L. Ross and Linda Ross Burris; and his beloved niece, Jennifer Ross.
A graveside service will be held at Obetz Cemetery on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 2:00pm. Family and friends are invited to gather as they celebrate Jack's life, share memories, and say their final goodbyes.
Although Jack is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in every project completed with care and every cherished memory shared by those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
