James B. Bare, 90, of Grove City, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020. James was born May 19, 1930 in Jefferson, North Carolina to Bart and Nora Bare. He served in the Army stateside for 2 years during the Korean War. He was an avid horseman. He trained, owned and raced horses for many years at the Beulah Park and also liked playing cards with his friends there. He was heartbroken when they closed. He died peacefully at home with his son David who was also his caregiver by his side. Special thank you to granddaughter Audra and her husband Tee for all the help they gave, even taking their papa into their home at one point. James was preceded in death by his wife Doris (Huiss) to whom he was married to for 57 years. He was also preceded in death by son John May. James will be deeply missed by his son David, Daughter Doris (Mike) and Daughter-in-law Peachie (John May), grandchildren Trina (Pat), Ronnie (Nancy), Correna (Ricky), Jenny (Dean), Alisha (Kyle), Audra (Tee), Annie, Markie, Vernon (Jennifer) and Veronica (Dariel), also survived by 37 great-grandkids and 14 great-great-grandkids and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the team members from Capitol City Hospice who took care of our dad. Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2020 from 10am until the time of service at 12pm at Newcomer SW Chapel 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery. Masks are required for services.
