James Christopher Dotson, age 47, of Thornville, died on November 18, 2016. Born June 2, 1969 in Morehead, Kentucky to Jim and Sue Dotson.
Preceded in death by father Jim; grandparents John and Minnie Dotson, Curt James and Frank Burton.
Survived by mother Sue Dotson; brothers Chad and Jonathan (Jennifer); nephew Callen; grandmother Faye Burton; uncles Clyde James and Johnny Dotson; aunts Gail (Kent) Emerson and Frankie Milam, many cousins and friends. Employed by Giant Eagle. 1987 graduate of Westland High School, attended OSU, and coached middle and high school basketball in SWCS. Chris was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs, Auburn Tiger football, and UNC basketball.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home S.W., 3393 Broadway, Grove City, where the funeral will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to The Morehead State University Foundation, designated for the Jim E. Dotson Memorial Scholarship, Box 1887, 150 University Blvd., Morehead, KY 40351.
