James E. Prysock Jr., 72, of Columbus, OH, was called to meet God in His Heavenly Country on October 20, 2013. James was born to the late James E. and Mattie E. Prysock on October 14, 1941. James leaves to rejoice in his home-going his wife of 32 years Donna Prysock; sons Troy and James the 3rd; and daughters Tracey, Kim, and Tyanne.
Rejoicing siblings are Patricia (James) Halloway, Dorothy Prysock, Elder Raymond Prysock, Arthur, Kenneth, Byron Prysock, Elma (Richard) Childs, Michael (Wanda) Bush; God Brother Teddy Kelso; one brother-in-law Jimmy (Nellie) Higginbotham, three sisters-in-law Sharon Detrow, Carol Blatter, and Joyce Long; grandchildren and great grandchildren that loved him dearly; as well as a host of extended family and friends too numerous to list.
James was a Supervisor II at Columbus Recreation and Parks, where he retired after 33 years of employment. James was a member of Ephesus SDA Church under the Pastorage of Bufford Griffith.
Some of his many accomplishments include a modeling career at a very early age, working for the City of Columbus, and being named Deacon of the Year not long after joining the Deacon Board. James was a "go getter", he was funny, informative and yet serious when the need presented itself.
An encouraging quote from James: "I am ready to meet Jesus whenever He is ready for me. I just needed my wife to be properly taken care of; the rest is okay by me. I have no other concerns."
One of JR's (as he was affectionately called), favorite scriptures was the 23rd Psalm, which his brother, Pastor Raymond Prysock will sing in his honor, to his God.
Visitation for James will be Friday, October 25, 2013 at 10:00AM followed by a service at 11:00AM at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231.
