James M. "Pap" Harless, 80, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 27, 2024. Pap was born on September 25, 1943 to the late James and Clara Harless in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by the loves of his life, Sandra and Lucy, his daughter, Sherita, and his siblings, Norsie and Denver.
He is survived by his loving children, Ursula (James) Garner, Laura Ingram, and Jeffrey Woods, his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his siblings, Bonnie, Georgia (Ray) Eden, Pete (Betty) Harless, and Markquita "Kitty" Whitt, and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Pappy was a unique human being. He was quite the ladies' man. He was a card shark who enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He had a knack for creating jobs for himself and others. Pap was always the first one to offer a helping hand. He was a bootlegger in the 70's, there was nothing he wouldn't try. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him, and also by those who disliked him. You'll never meet another person like him.
Family and friends may gather at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 4pm-7pm to honor Pap's life.
