James D. Houston

James D. Houston, age 64, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on July 12, 2026. Doug was born on December 24, 1961 in Hoonah, Alaska to the late James and Nancy Houston.

He is lovingly survived by his sons, Sam (Liz) Houston, Zachary (Isabelle) Houston, Levi Houston, granddaughter, Eleanor, brother, Mike Houston, and extended family members and friends.

Doug was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He loved spending his time in the outdoors. Doug never met a stranger, he loved meeting new people. Growing up, he was an athlete playing many sports such as football, baseball, and water polo. Doug attended Apostolic Bible Institute where he played for the Softball team. While in college, he worked at St. Paul Ramsey Hospital as a major trauma Nurse's Aid. He was also an excellent finish carpenter. He was very dedicated to ministry the majority of his life. He spent his life helping people however he could. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

He will be deeply missed.
