James Philip Jablonski, age 83, of Westerville, Ohio comfortably and peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends June 23, 2025.
James Jablonski was born May 4th, 1942 to Casimer and Patricia (Ellis) Jablonski. He attended Clinton Avenue Grade School, New Haven Middle School and North Haven High. Jim graduated in 1961, began his service in the United States Navy February 1962 and ended his reserve obligation in September 1966. Seaman Jablonski was assigned to USS Putnam and USS Johnston where he was part of the US Quarantine Forces in the Caribbean during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.
After the Navy, Jim attended airline school in Kansas City, Missouri where he met his beautiful wife Sue. He worked for TWA, Frontier, US Airways, and finished his career with Westerville City Schools as a beloved custodian. Jim also went to college at Wright State and Fairleigh Dickinson Universities.
On January 8th, 1966 Jim married the love of his life, Sue Schreiman, daughter of Marcellus and Patricia (Carver) Schreiman (deceased) at Immaculate Conception Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. They were married 59 years. When they lived in Englewood, Ohio they adopted their son, Michael in 1971 and upon their move to Lakewood, Colorado they completed their family by adopting their beautiful daughter, Lisa in 1974.
Jim loved coaching for his children’s soccer teams, enjoyed the outdoors, bowling, fishing, and, through his access to the airlines, he and his wife traveled to many places, including a cruise to the Caribbean and a trip to their favorite-Switzerland. He supported the ASPCA and donated monies to no-kill shelters because he cared deeply for animals, especially cats.
Jim was known for his incredible niceness, humor, and infectious smile. He was adored by many in his neighborhood and also the aides and nurses at Danbury Assisted living where he and his wife recently relocated. Jim was a very supportive and loving husband and father who always found time to attend his children's and grandchildren’s activities.
Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sue (Schreiman) Jablonski; son Michael James Jablonski, daughter Lisa Marie Jablonski (Kevin Hart); granddaughter Krista Bowers, grandsons Derek Bowers and Darrin Schoen, Eli Baker, and granddaughter Bella Baker; sister Judy Libby (Ron); niece Jen Bryson (Joe) and their children Riley, Avery, Cole and Drew; nephew Chris Libby (Erin) and their children Benjamin and Quinn.
Jim was devout member of St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Westerville, Ohio. He was preceded in his trip to Heaven by his father Casmir and mother Patricia (Ellis) Jablonski.
