James "Joe" Bliffen

James "Joe" Bliffen, 70, passed away on July 2, 2014 at his home in Pickerington, OH surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 18, 1943 in Huntington, WV to Ralph and Aleta (Watrous) Bliffen.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marie Stumbo and Mary Bliffen; and brother, Steve Bliffen.

He is survived by his wife Sara Bliffen; children, Erin Bliffen-Kean, Devon (Joe) Menix, Heath Stanley, and Levi Stanley; grandchildren, Sydney Menix, Andrew Menix, Rowyn Kean, and Finn Kean; siblings, John Bliffen, Jerry Bliffen, Jack Bliffen, Betty Thomas, and Peggy Bauer; and many other loving family members and friends.

Joe was a pastor for over 40 years. The most recent parish he ministered is The Fourth Avenue Christian Church in Columbus, OH. Joe was a man with a very visible faith, and his love for The Lord was written on his face which he showed through his friendship and the way he lived his life. He will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 10:00am-11:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231 followed by a memorial service at 11:30am officiated by Ted Moore.
