James M. McCue, Jr.

James “Pap” McCue Jr., age 67, of Orient, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at home, surrounded by comfort and the love of his devoted wife.

He was born on February 22, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, and was loved by many. A proud United States Marine, Pap served his country with honor and pride, carrying those values of strength, leadership, and resilience throughout his life.

Pap was known for his unwavering devotion to family and friends, and for the strength he showed in protecting and caring for those he loved. He was a determined man who never wavered in his beliefs and always set his own pace in life, never allowing anything or anyone to dictate who he was. He had a feisty sense of humor, loved fishing, scratching lottery tickets, watching Buckeye and Browns football, Great Smokey Mountain vactaions and cherished time spent with his loved ones. Those who loved him did so deeply and shared a bond with him that was truly special.

He is survived by his loving wife, Drema McCue (Johnson); his sons, Jimmy (Tifinni), and Jason (Lori). Also surviving are his grandchildren - Brooklyn (fiancé James), Megan, Corey, Darien, Felicia, Abigale, Aiden, and Deven; along with his great grandchildren – Owen, Mila, and Livi. He is also survived by his sisters Rhonda Webber, Contessa McCue, and Tawnie Liddil, along with many nieces, nephews, and other cherished loved ones.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Fresenius Medical Care team and OhioHealth Hospice for their compassionate and excellent care.

Services will be held on January 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cypress Church Grove City Campus, 2735 Columbus St, Grove City, OH 43123. Flowers may be sent to to the McCue residence at 5259 Timberlake Circle Orient OH, 43146.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any hospice organization in his memory.

Pap will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
