James Ernest Preston

James Ernest "Ernie" Preston, 81, of Circleville, OH passed away October 2, 2020. Ernie was born September 11, 1939 to Frank and Dora {Hall} Preston.
He proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962.

Ernie had a real passion for sales and mentoring the young trainees. He was always kind, caring and generous to everyone that he met and would help others in any way that he could.

Ernie will be deeply missed by his wife of 26 years Ruth (Daniel); children Cathy (Mark) Redwine, Karen (Brooks) Hunt, Glen (Jennifer) Preston, Kevin (Maryellen) Preston; grandchildren Elizabeth Redwine, David Preston, Tyler Preston, Caroline Preston, Kristen Hunt, Brooks Hunt III, Stephen Preston, Christopher Preston, Allison Preston, Megan Preston, Matthew Preston, Andrew Preston, Emma Preston, Anthony Preston; brothers Paul Preston, Jarvey "Lee" Preston; sister Ellen Sargent along with many other friends and family. Ernie was preceded in death by his son Jim Preston, parents and 7 siblings.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 10am until the time of service, 11am at United Methodist Church, 5027 West 2nd St. South Bloomfield, OH.

Burial will be at Harrison Township Cemetery, where military rites will be held.

Ernie and Ruth loved gathering together with family, and ask that memorial contributions be made to the South Bloomfield United Methodist Church Family Center Fellowship Hall.
