James "Jim" Ray Smith, 44, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East.
He was born November 24, 1969 in Columbus, son of Walter and Pamela Blakeman Smith.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erma Moone, Ray W. Blakeman, Walter Smith Sr. and Sarah Smith; great grandparents, Ray and Mary Collmar; uncles, Bill Smith and Jan Smith and his aunt, Linda Thompson; cousins, Matthew Smith and Judith Smith; niece, Rene Smith.
He was a Maintenance Technician for Apartment complexes with over 20 years of service and also was the Grandmaster of Warhammer.
In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by his sister, Lucille Marie Smith; grandparents, Arthur Moone, Louise Blakeman and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be Monday, April 21, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
Jim was a true friend and wonderful, compassionate son and brother that will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.
