Jamie Lee Matheus

Jamie Lee Matheus-Browning, age 60, of Powell, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 28, 1966, in Columbus, Ohio, to Linda Elzey and Clifford Browning, Jamie was a proud Columbus native who attended local schools and carried his Midwestern warmth with him wherever he went.

Jamie built a dedicated career as a car hauler, working with several companies over the years, but he was most proud of his time behind the wheel for Cassens Transport. He approached his work with the same grit and good humor that defined every part of his life.

Above all, Jamie was a family man through and through. He is survived by his devoted wife, Christin Kolli; his children, Gabriel Mathews, Olive (Tori) Mathews, and Emily (William) Hook; his step-son, Amar Kolli; and his adored grandchildren, Milo and Zelda, who brought him immeasurable joy. He also leaves behind several loving siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly. Jamie was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Kristian Joy Mathews, and we take comfort knowing they are reunited.

Jamie was the undeniable life of every room—funny, kind, and endlessly generous. He had a magnetic spirit that made everyone want to be near him. He found his greatest happiness attending concert events with his wife, friends, and family, and he treasured his many golf outings with his father. But his truest joy came from the simple, beautiful moments spent with his kids and grandchildren—those were the times he loved most.

The family extends their deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Dr. Besam William, the Bing Cancer Center, and the extraordinary team of nurses, PAs, and NPs on Floor 6 Blue at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Your endless skill, compassion, and unwavering kindness during the worst time of our lives will never be forgotten. You are truly special.

A private ceremony will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jamie's memory to the Ohio Health Bing Cancer Center or OSU's The James Cancer Hospital in recognition of the exceptional care he received.
