Jane Ellen Argust Hutchinson, of Alexandria, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Middleton Senior Living Memory Care on Friday, September 26, 2025. She was born on May 1, 1941, in Taylorville, Illinois, to the late Caroline Morton Argust and Walter Argust.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sisters, Emma Catherine Argust and Julia Luft.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, W. Scott Hutchinson, and their children: Scott (Marilyn) Hutchinson, Ryan (Barb) Hutchinson, and Julia (David) Liggett. She was a cherished grandmother to Brittany (Anthony) Ellis, Tabatha (Toby) Starr, Josh (Tessa) Hutchinson, Scott (Megan) Hutchinson, Joel (Heidi) Hutchinson, and Caroline (Timothy Sullivan) Liggett. Her legacy continues through her ten great-grandchildren: McKenna, Aiden, Ian, Vanessa, Ryan, Emma, Zane, Savannah, Scotty, and River.

Jane was a wonderful wife, a devoted mother, a treasured friend, and a loving dog mom. She had a gift for making people feel at home and a warmth that welcomed all who entered her life. Known for being the best of hostesses, Jane’s home was always filled with love, laughter, and hospitality.

She had a passion for decorating, crafting, and playing games, and she especially delighted in any activity that brought her closer to her family. A proud 1959 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School, Jane treasured the memories of her youth and kept strong ties with her friends, attending reunions and celebrating the bond they shared over the years.

In their retirement, Jane and Scott found joy in tending to their home and traveling together, with a special fondness for their time spent in Myrtle Beach.

Above all, Jane lived a life of love, kindness, and service to others—a reflection of the deep faith that guided her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she nurtured, supported, and inspired. Jane would want everyone who knew her to know the source of her hope—her Savior, Jesus Christ, who died so she could live eternally with Him, free from the suffering she experienced on earth.

A memorial service to honor the life and memory of Jane will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 4:00 PM at New Covenant Community Church in Johnstown, Ohio.
