Janet E. Peters

Janet E. Peters, 85, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026.

Janet was born on November 9, 1940, in Fostoria, Ohio, to the late Alfred and Lona (Bennett) Graber. Throughout her life, Janet was known for her hard work and adaptability, bringing her talents to many different businesses over the years.

A woman of many passions, Janet found great joy in creating beauty through painting and sewing. She loved the excitement of playing games and taking trips to the casino, always bringing an energetic and fun-loving spirit to everything she did. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished time spent with her family.

Janet is survived by her loving spouse of 66 years, Richard Peters; her children, Kim (Scott) Flowers, Cindy (Todd) Spingath, and Tracy Kovalchik; and her grandchildren, Jenna (Tom) Bossa, Brian (Kristen) Flowers, Jordan (Jessica) Flowers, Brett (Allee) Flowers, Shawn (Valli) Spingath, Tiffany (Ethan) Hanks, Brittany Spingath, Natalie Kokoska, Dylan Kokoska, and Katie Kovalchik. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Addison Keller, Elaina Flowers, Ehren Spingath, Bree Bossa, Leo Bossa, Emma Flowers, and Alora Hanks; and her siblings, Kay (Bill Such) Wilcox, Leroy (Sunny) Graber, and Les (Billie Jean) Graber.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles (Jean) Graber and Alton Graber.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her vibrant life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
