Janice Altmann

Janis Altmann, 88, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 in Westerville, OH. She was born on June 10, 1928 in Milladore, WI to Felix and Margaret Merkel.

Janis is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome Altmann; son, Michael Altmann; and siblings, Patricia, Ruth, Clifford, Norman, Cyril and Roland.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Altmann and Kathleen (Neil) Kitzmiller; and grandchildren, Kristofer Altmann, Heather (Tory) Jackson, Joshua (Shari) Kitzmiller and Nathan Kitzmiller.

Janis enjoyed crocheting animals and attending craft shows. She and her husband attended St. Edwards Catholic Church many years before Jerry's passing and was involved in various activities with the church.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 2:30pm to 3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Marshfield, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local MS Society chapter in Janis' honor. She had a very difficult time adjusting after losing Jerry and Mike and moving to Columbus. Thank you for all of your love and support over the years.
