Janice Lynn DeAmicis, 47, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2020 at her home. She was born on January 25, 1973, at Camp Kue Army Hospital in Okinawa, Japan; the daughter of George F. DeAmicis and Terry L. (John) Kittle.
Janice is survived by her mother, Terry, of Lawerenceburg, Indiana as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, George; grandparents, Paul and Florence DeAmicis of Carey, Ohio and Jack and Joan Aube of Farwell, Michigan; as well as two aunts, Peggy Aube of Galesburg, Michigan and Linda Hoepf of Carey, Ohio.
Janice was a 1991 graduate of Plymouth Canton High School in Plymouth, Michigan, where she played trombone in the Plymouth Canton Marching Band during her high school years.
She was a member of the Bands of America Grand National Championship Band in 1990 and performed with that group at the Orange Bowl Parade in Miami, Florida.
Janice made lifelong friends from her band days and stayed in touch with them over the years.
Janice has been employed in the mortgage industry for several years, most recently at Keller Mortgage where she was a Quality Assurance Analyst.
Janice loved her family and friends. She made a point to see her friends regularly and with recent COVID regulations, she still enjoyed seeing her friends with takeout food and lawn chairs in empty parking lots, practicing social distancing, of course. Next to her friends and family, her biggest love was her Columbus Blue Jackets. She was a season ticket holder and made many, many friends over the years attending games.
Janice traveled with some of those friends to view Blue Jacket games as far away as Canada, Nashville, and Las Vegas.
Janice also loved Ohio State football, Detroit Tigers baseball and the Dallas Cowboys.
She also loved attending concerts and was a huge fan of Hugh Jackman, who she had seen in person three times.
Cremation has been performed and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation (CBJ Gives Back) at 200 West Nationwide Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43215 or a charity of your choice.
