August 16, 1938 — January 31, 2020
Jean Sue Casey Galloway, age 81, of Ashland, Kentucky and Grove City, Ohio, won her brief battle with cancer and passed from this world to eternal life on Friday, January 31, 2020. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family doing what she loved to do - listening to hymns.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Charles "Tom" Galloway; her parents, Chester and Gladys Casey; brother, John Casey; and her sister, Sherry Hooker, who passed away on February 1, 2020.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Fred) Phillips, and son, Tom (Elizabeth) Galloway; grandchildren, Brooke (Charlie) Enochs, Brandon (Kayla) Galloway, Sarah Phillips, Madisyn Stutler, Lexi Galloway, and Bradyn Galloway; great grandchildren, Carson Enochs, Eli Galloway, Parker Galloway, and Blake Enochs; extended family, and a host of loving friends.
"Miss Jeanie" was a long time member of Second Free Will Baptist Church in Ashland, and attended Grove City Church of the Nazarene once she moved back to Ohio. She will be affectionately remembered as having a passion for University of Kentucky basketball, for being a lunch lady after working many years at Crabbe and Hager Elementary Schools, and for her cooking, particularly her Nana Fudge and Twinkie Cake. She will be most remembered, though, for her love and devotion to God, her family, and her friends.
In keeping with Jean's wishes, there will be no funeral services, but a celebratory luncheon will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Second Free Will Baptist Church in Ashland. In Lieu of flowers, contributions in her name can be made to the church. The family would like to thank Mount Carmel Hospice for their incredible care and compassion during this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio.
