Jean Karn, age 95 of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017. She was born to the late Cleo and Elmer Carmell of Clintonville on June 2, 1922.
She attended elementary, middle and high school in Clintonville and remained a proud member of the North High School Women's Alumnae Association since her graduation in 1940. (Go Polar Bears!)
Family was always Jean's first love. She traveled frequently to bring her husband home from his many voyages as a Merchant Marine traversing the continental US no less than 20 times.
She loved collecting Christmas tree pins and classic Hawaiian tourist shirts. Thanks to her beloved Aunts Minnie and Marcella she also collected hankies tenderly remembering those they had gifted her as a child with each acquisition.
Jean is survived by her daughter Diane, son Ronald (Cindy) Desmond, her grandchildren Wellesley (Eric) Doyle, Whitney (Patrick) Christy, Ronald Desmond II, Wynnedolyn Desmond and Aaron Desmond. Great Grandchildren, Ivy Doyle, Amelia and Olivia Desmond. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
Jean will be interred on Saturday December 23, 2017 at Blendon Central Cemetery beside her beloved husband William with Graveside Services at 10:00am.
