Jean Leyde, age 66 of New Albany, passed away suddenly on November 15, 2019 surrounded by her family at Riverside Hospital. She was born on April 1, 1953 to the late John and Margaret (Saunders) Leyde in Sharon, PA.
She was a graduate of Hickory High School, class of 1971. She then proceeded to achieve both her Bachelors Degree in Education and Associate Degree in Nursing. She spent 40 years of her life in nursing dedicating herself to long term care and hospice care. She touched the lives of too many patients to count.
Jean is survived by wife Jami Kovalchik, son Stephen Kovalchik, brother John (Claudia) Leyde, sister Elizabeth "Biz" (Stephen) McCaffrey, nieces Janna (Chad) Hockenjos, Anne (Max) Resler, Carrie McCaffrey, Nichole Hall, nephews Colin (Liz) McCaffrey, Stephen Corvi and Sean Kovalchik, multiple great nieces and nephews, friends, coworkers, and former coworkers.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 1pm until time of memorial service at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd, Columbus, OH 43215.
