Jeanne Anne Schneider, age 75, was called home to her Lord and Savior on January 30, 2026. She was born December 23, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, to Paul and Dorothy Miller. Jeanne lived a life devoted to her faith, her family, and caring for others.
Jeanne was a 1968 graduate of Franklin Heights High School. She attended Franklin University before earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capital University. She dedicated more than 30 years to nursing, beginning her career caring for residents at the Heinzerling facility. She spent the majority of her career as a labor and delivery nurse at Riverside Methodist Hospital, later serving in the intensive care unit at Doctors West Hospital. Jeanne completed her nursing career as a hospice nurse with OhioHealth. In addition to bedside care, she taught aspiring nurses and administered chemotherapy to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Her compassion, skill and dedication touched countless lives.
On March 30, 1974, Jeanne married her beloved husband, Norm, in Columbus at Lockbourne Air Force Base. For 51 years, they were inseparable — each other’s greatest supporters, constant companions, and truest friends. Their marriage was a beautiful example of steadfast love. Together, they raised three children: Jason, Seth, and Rachel.
A lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church for more than 70 years, Jeanne faithfully lived out her love for Christ. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age and later followed Him in believer’s baptism. Jeanne glorified God through singing in the choir, performing special music and solos, and lovingly serving in children’s ministries. She also used her passion for quilting and crocheting to make blankets for families served by the maternity resource center — stitching care and encouragement into every piece. Her nursing heart was often her ministry — caring for church members during times of illness and need, and at times opening her home to those who required extended care. Even in her final days at the memory care unit, her instinct to serve never faded. She could often be found assisting with the creation of the daily staffing schedule for nurses and staff, walking and talking with fellow residents, or quietly assisting by feeding and comforting others—continuing to give care in the way that had defined her life.
Jeanne had a vibrant personality and a deep love for her family. She was often the loudest voice at her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, never hesitating to “coach” the officials from the stands. She delighted in feeding others and was famous for cooking meals large enough to feed an army, even if only a handful were expected. Her egg rolls, cabbage rolls, spaghetti salad, and Chex Mix were legendary. If you knew Jeanne, you knew you would never leave hungry. She also enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies, Precious Moments, and anything featuring lighthouses. Above all, Jeanne cherished time spent with her family and especially treasured her role as a grandmother.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Norm, and her parents. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith and will be deeply missed by her children, Jason (Chrissy), Seth (Crystal), and Rachel Schneider; her grandchildren, Noah, Livi, Jackson, Samuel, Abigail, Jaycee, and Lincoln Schneider; her sister, Alice (Ken) McGhee; extended family members; and many dear friends.
Family and friends will be received for visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
