Jeffrey "Jock" Layton, age 63, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at home after a year long battle with cancer. He was born on September 27, 1954 in Circleville, OH.
Jock was a devoted father, husband, Pap, friend and the toughest teddy bear you'll ever meet. He loved riding his Harley, hunting, the Hollar, his children and grandchildren. He retired from Welch Packaging after many years of faithful service.
Surviving family includes devoted and loving wife of 102 years, Penny Layton; daughters, Ginger (Scott) Green, Ashley (Matt) LePage, Aaron Knox; grandchildren, Jeffery, Katelyn, Clayton, Olivia, Zachary, Preston, Jake and Ely; pets, Dixie, Cush and Camo; also survived by many other family members, close friends and the Hollar Mafia Crew #JOCKOSTRONG
Preceded in death by infant daughter, Mamie; parents, Alva and Gladys Layton; mother and father-in-law, Gordon and Virginia Roush; sister, Marilyn Layton.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Orient United Methodist Church, 5340 Mill St., Orient, OH 43146, where visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.
