In Loving Memory of Jeffrey Allen Martin December 21, 1955 – June 24, 2025
Jeffrey Allen Martin, age 69, had a triumphal entry into the arms of Jesus on June 24, 2025. Born and raised in West Jefferson, Ohio, he was the first son of six siblings of the late Richard E. Martin and Margie K. (McElfresh) Martin.
Jeff graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1974. He later moved to Columbus, where he met the love of his life, Nina Martin, and they raised four children. Nina remained his best friend—and his one true love. Jeff was a proud father and Papaw and he loved his family unconditionally and never stopped believing in them.
Jeff was known for his stubborn streak, quirky sense of humor, strong work ethic, and gentle spirit. From the ninth grade on, he shared an unbreakable bond with his lifelong friends, Jeffrey Murray and Charles Willeford. Together, the three enjoyed countless adventures—hunting, fishing, and swapping stories around glowing bonfires. He dedicated over 42 years working in the meat industry, first for R. Wilke Meats and Quality Meats before retiring from Michael’s Finer Meats & Seafoods in 2019.
A man of simple pleasures, Jeff found joy in classic Western TV shows and had a deep appreciation for music of all kinds - whether it was country, rock, blues, or old-school R&B, music was a constant presence in his life.
Jeff was a man of faith, a child of God, and now rests peacefully in Jesus' arms. He will be missed deeply and remembered always—for his laughter, loyalty, and the quiet way he loved those around him.
Preceded in death by parents Richard and Margie Martin, Nina Martin; sister, Jennifer “Jenna” Kay Webb, brother-in-law, David Tufts and Michael Jared, sister-in-law, Patty Martin and Mary Webb, and Grandparents, Edward and Bessie McElfresh, Fred and Alice Martin.
