Jereta Pearl Labella, lovingly known as “Scissy,” passed away on June 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and cherished memories. Born on November 12, 1940, in Morehead, Mississippi, Jereta's life was one characterized by kindness, resilience, and a profound love for her family.
Jereta’s journey began in the heart of Mississippi, where her gentle spirit and nurturing nature took root. Across the years, she touched countless lives, both within her family and beyond. Those who knew her best remember her as someone who treasured every moment spent with loved ones—a woman who found profound joy in the laughter and stories shared around the kitchen table.
She was a dedicated and hardworking individual, retiring from UPS after more than fifteen years of service. Colleagues respected her not only for her diligence, but for the grace and good humor she brought to every day. Jereta’s commitment to her work echoed the dedication she showed in all aspects of her life.
Family was at the core of Jereta’s world. She delighted in time spent with the people she loved most, creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and unforgettable aromas. Her chocolate chip cookies became legendary—baked not just with sugar and chocolate, but with deep affection and an open heart. Gatherings in her home were enriched by her cooking, her laughter, and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed.
Jereta was also an avid reader, finding solace and adventure in the pages of her favorite books, especially the Bible and Scripture. This devotion to her faith was reflected in her passion for sharing the Gospel with those around her.
While Jereta’s passing is felt deeply by many, she leaves cherished memories in the hearts of those who survive her: her loving husband of 65 years, Salvador Labella; daughters, Nicole (Gary) Haskins, Terrie (Thomas) Clark; and granddaughters, Illena “Lena” Clark and Sonia Clark. Together, they carry forward the light and love she so freely gave.
Jereta is reunited in peace with her beloved child, Stephanie “Lynnie” Labella, whose memory she held close to her heart throughout her days.
To honor Jereta’s remarkable life, a visitation will be held on June 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123.
