Jesse Arnold Richards, a devoted family man, proud veteran, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 30, 2026. Born on February 10, 1956, in McArthur, Ohio, Jesse lived a life marked by integrity, humility, and a passion for the simple joys that enriched his days.

Jesse was a man who truly embodied the phrase "salt of the earth." He was known for his down-to-earth nature, his warmth, and his unwavering loyalty to those he loved. A proud veteran, Jesse honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage and dedication.

Outside of his military service, Jesse was an avid motorcyclist and golfer, activities that brought him joy and camaraderie. He also delighted in shooting pool and playing darts, often sharing these moments with family and friends. These passions were not merely hobbies but opportunities for Jesse to connect with those around him, revealing the heartfelt warmth and genuine spirit that defined his character.

Jesse’s greatest joy was spending time surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jamie Justus; his children, Sumiko Richards, Jesse "Mike" Richards, Jeremy Richards, Jimmy Justus, and Melissa Richards; as well as eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. He is also survived by his siblings, Mike Richards, Troy Richards, Janet Rodenstein, Martha Curry, and Betty Forquer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Sumiko (Toriumi) Richards, and his sister, Gladys Kessler, whose memories Jesse held close to his heart throughout his life.

A visitation to honor Jesse's memory will be held on June 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Military honors will take place at the end of the evening, conducted by members of the American Legion Post #532 and the United States Navy.This gathering will provide an opportunity for all who knew Jesse to celebrate his life, share stories, and find comfort in the company of others who cherished him.

Jesse Arnold Richards leaves behind a legacy of steadfast commitment to family, country, and community. His life was a testament to the values of simplicity, loyalty, and love, which he exemplified every day. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
