We celebrate the beautiful life of Jessie Carter, who peacefully departed this life on May 17, 2026. Born on February 23, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, Jessie was a woman whose love, laughter, and presence could light up any room.

Jessie was known for her bright personality, beautiful spirit, and sense of style. She loved dressing nicely, wearing her jewelry, and carrying herself with grace and confidence. Creative and adventurous, Jessie enjoyed expressing herself, embracing life, and making memories with those she loved. She believed in taking care of herself and staying active in the gym. Jessie lived life fully and unapologetically, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Beyond her outward beauty was a loving woman devoted to her family and friendships. Jessie cherished her children, grandchildren, and loved ones deeply. She created many meaningful friendships and memories throughout her life and was an amazing friend to so many. Fierce in protecting those she loved, Jessie was a source of strength, love, and unwavering support to her family and friends. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her.

Jessie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary (Davis) Jackson; her father, Emery Ashe; her former husband, George Carter; her stepson, David Carter; her beloved dogs, Minnie and Titus; her Aunt Aimee; and her Aunt Jessie Mae Phipps.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Quincy Phipps and George Carter Jr.; her stepchildren, Ceasare’ Carter and Christopher Carter; her siblings, Cisco Ashe, Marcus (Delores) Jackson, Leatrice Jackson, Sheila Jackson, Patricia Clark, and Jackie Ashe; her cherished grandchildren, Sharvess Phipps, Destinee Phipps, India Phipps, Leila Carter, George Carter, Jayden (Smalley) Carter, Landon Carter, and Kameron Carter; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends, including her best friend, Lavonda McLean.

Jessie’s love, laughter, strength, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved, the friendships she cherished, and the countless memories that will be treasured forever.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel; 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A memorial service will immediately follow in the chapel at 3:00 PM.
