James Batik, 62 of Gahanna, OH, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on August 22, 2016. Born on September 29. 1953 to the late Emil and Gladys (Church) Batik in Charleston, WV. Jim cherished the ability to make others laugh, almost nothing made him happier. All that knew him would describe him as a kind and generous man, who loved without reservation. He and his wife Cheryl were soul mates on this earth for 42 years and now through eternity. He loved and was so proud of his sons, Ryan (Michele) Batik and Andy (Jenny) Batik, always wanting to be there for them without question. His pride and joy were his grandchildren Roman and Giorgia, "The Peach". He was their G-Daddy and loved them without fail. Also survived siblings Marsha K Evans, Thomas D. Batik and Jo Ellen Howard, special friends Dan and Linda Dailey, the staff at Kobacker House who he considered to be family, the loving support from the Fox family and Debbie White, who provided the introduction for all the love that was to come.

Mass will be held on Friday at 10am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 9633 E. State Route 37, Sunbury, OH with Father David Sizemore officiating.

Jim would want to leave you with one last joke.... An elderly couple were at the doctors office. The doctor explains he would need a urine, a stool and a semen sample. The man was hard of hearing and turned to his wife...what did he say, and the wife replied "he wants to see your underwear."
