Jimmy "Cy" Blanton, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away on February 9, 2026, in South Bloomfield, Ohio, at the age of 69. Born on February 22, 1956, in Elwood, Indiana, Cy lived a life filled with hard work, laughter, and love for his family.
Jimmy's career as a floor installer was well-known, and he spent many years working with his brother, Woody, at Krazy Katz Paylake, where they shared not just a workplace but a strong bond as brothers. He was also a painter, showcasing his skills in various projects. His education included time at Teays Valley High School and Eastland Career Center, where he learned valuable trades that supported his hard-working nature.
A man who never met a stranger, Jimmy had a knack for making friends wherever he went. His funny personality and go-getter attitude endeared him to many, and he was always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. His love for the outdoors was reflected in his hobbies, which included fishing, hunting, and enjoying the beauty of nature. He was particularly fond of The Ohio State Buckeyes and took great pride in cleaning his truck.
Jimmy is survived by his adoring wife of 44 years, Brenda; their son, JJ; and beloved grandchildren, Savannah (Noe Silva) Buckler. He is also remembered by his sisters, Barb (Kenny) Brown, Tina Ward, and Susie Perry Blanton; his brother, Woody (Tammy) Blanton; brother-in-law Randy Dixon; his special uncle and aunt, Dave and Vicki Blanton; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Faye (Riffe) Blanton; his sisters, Patty (Jim) Johnson and Pam Dixon; and brother-in-law, Larry Ward and nephew Jesse Ward.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, 43123.
Jimmy will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him, and his proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his family.
