Jo Ann Moore, age 83, passed away peacefully on her birthday, July 14, 2025, at Holzer Hospital, Jackson, OH. She was born in Oak Hill, Ohio to Helen (Saunders) Fox and Theodore Fox on July 14, 1942. She was a graduate of Oak Hill High School and earned a Psychology Degree from Rio Grande College. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Edgewood Manor of Wellston, OH.
Jo Ann loved all kinds of music with her favorite song being "These Boots Were Made For Walking" by Nancy Sinatra. She loved wearing boots, was an enthusiastic OSU Buckeyes fan, loved Elvis Presley, reading and being a passenger on a roaring motorcycle. She also enjoyed the freedom to be who she saw herself to be by often surprising family and friends with a new hair color, sometimes of many colors, hair styles and makeup.
Jo Ann is survived by her children Tony Moore of VA and Shellie (Bob) Shaw of London, OH. She was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, a very proud great grandmother to nine great grandchildren and an aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Lambert, father Theodore Fox, stepfather Thomas Lambert, sisters Janet and Beverly Lambert, brothers Donald, Ervin, and Eddie Fox. She is survived by Randy Fox of Moundsville, WV, Rita (Cris) Malone and Sally (Cline) Rawlins of Oak Hill and Carolyn Murry of Columbus.
Jo Ann will be cremated and will be laid to rest in Clay Cemetery, Oak Hill, OH. A family graveside remember of her life is pending, please check back for updated times.
