Joan C. Mabry

Joan C. (Brierley) (DiGirolomo) Mabry, age 79, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY and was a long-time resident of West Carrollton, OH. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alice Brierley, and her brother, Thomas Brierley.

She is survived by her loving children Carl (Julie) DiGirolomo, Sue (Ron) Bostwick, John DiGirolomo and Ann (David) Blackwell. She had six grandchildren, Kevin Langford (Angie), Allison Beckner (Jim), Carl DiGirolomo (Erin), Brady Blackwell, Quinn Blackwell, John Carlo DiGirolomo and one great grandchild Sophia Joan Beckner.

Joan was a successful Real Estate Broker for many years and spent most of her working career in Port St. Lucie, FL. Joan's many interests included politics and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A dear friend of Joan's offered a caring and insightful tribute, "Joan had a strong, ever-present personality, a love for life, and a need to love and be loved. She gave as much or more than she received. I feel her presence and you will each feel it as well. In the end, she knew her family loved her and witnessed the care and support they each gave her when she least expected it. She was gratified and awed by their circle of love and generosity."

Joan's celebration of life service will take place Saturday May 28, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd; Kettering, Ohio 45439. Visitation will be from 10-11am followed by a Catholic Service at 11am at the Funeral Home.
