Joan Dean Seymour, 87, born March 10, 1929, went home to be with her Higher Power on March 4, 2017.
She retired from Donato's payroll department after many years of loyal service. She worked in accounts payable for Maryhaven before Donato's. Joanie's most important job was as a devoted mother to her daughter, Terri.
Joanie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Dean.
Joanie is survived by her daughter, Terri McGee; grandson, Matt (Katie) Phillips; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Gabriel, Lena and Ethan Phillips; cousin, Steven (Stuff) Wirtz; friend and co-worker, Mike (Homie) Lucas and special friends, Gertrude Rasor, Jeff Altman, Jennifer Shoemaker and Judy Sprunger. Joanie's loss will be deeply felt by many other friends, family and neighbors too numerous to name.
She was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 33 years, serving those in need. She was an avid OSU football fan, Euchre and Scrabble player. Joanie's famous words to her daughter were,"Ain't this fun, Terri Lynn?"

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family in care of Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231 to help offset expenses.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 1-3 p.m at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH with a memorial service beginning promptly at 3.
