Joan E. Snow

Joan Elaine Snow, age 80, of Orient, Ohio, passed away on March 28, 2026.

Born October 31, 1945, in Warren, Maine, Joan was the youngest of four children born to Eunice and John Beane. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Hudson College. In 1971 she married Roland Snow, and together they made their home in the Columbus area.

Joan began her career as a teacher with Columbus City Schools, where she was dedicated to her students and passionate about helping others. She later devoted herself to raising her children, a role she treasured and eventually she began a second career that allowed her to tap into her love of plants at Strader’s Garden Center, where she remained until retirement.

Throughout her life, Joan was known for her warmth, kindness and generosity. She was always ready to help others and was deeply involved in her community, her church, and her family’s lives. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roland Snow; her children, Erin Jeffries (Matt) of Powell, Ohio, and Nicholas Snow (Sarah) of Gahanna, Ohio; and her 6 beloved grandchildren: Gillian, Caylen, Nina, Marian, Gemma, and Preston. She is also survived by extended family members and close friends all of whom she held dear to her heart.

Memorial Service: A celebration of life will be held at Harrisburg United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, Ohio on Thursday, April 16 at 2pm. Family and friends are invited to gather in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
