Joan Marie Sweeney, 78, of Groveport, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at her residence.
She was born January 15, 1938 in Columbus, daughter of the late Jeffrey and Ethel Greenleaf West.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Madison Ray Sweeney and brother, Melvin West.
She is survived by her son, Steven Ray (Liliana) Sweeney; sisters, Betty (Kenneth) Wilson and Carol Adams; brother, James Brunning; grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Jennifer Castillon, Liliana Anamarie and Julian Sweeney; great grandchildren, Madison, Cason and Damian.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
Funeral service will be Friday, September 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park, Rush Twp.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43215.
