Joanie Mead

Joanie Renee Mead, 56, passed away peacefully December 22, 2013 in Columbus, OH surrounded by her loving family after a courageous journey. She was born on December 19, 1957 in Haleyville, AL to Russell and Mary Haley.

Joanie is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 37 years, James E. Mead; children, Kimberly (Joseph) Blubaugh and Jeffrey Mead; grandchildren, Caitlin, Caleb, Gavin and Ian Blubaugh; parents, Russell and Mary Haley; and many other loving family and friends. She will live in our hearts forever.

Joanie, as a wife, mother, daughter and Nana, was incredibly devoted to her family and a true matriarch. As a graduate of The Ohio State University, she was a proud Buckeyes fan. Joanie was also a respected and accomplished small business owner.

The family will receive condolences from 12-1pm, Saturday, December 28, 2013 followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231.
