John A. Centofanti, 95, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Columbus, OH. John was born on April 18, 1923 in Columbus to the late John (Giovanni) and Maria Josephine Centofanti.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Virginia; brothers, Enio and Joe Richie Centofanti; sisters, Filomena and Jennie Centofanti.
He is survived by his daughter, Mia Centofanti (Kevin); grandchildren, John and Jarod (Aleia) Price; great-grandchildren, Aryana, Ethan and Erick Price; brother, Frank (Chic) Centofanti; sister, Elda Cianelli; many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
John proudly served his country during World War II. He was a member of the S.F.I. Club, Abruzzi Club and the Riviera Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf for many years. After retiring from the railroad, John moved to North Fort Myers, Florida where he resided for 31 years and continued playing the sport of golf. John loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, Chicago Cubs and watching all sports.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 4 to 6pm at Newcomer Columbus NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231. A Celebration of Life will begin at 6pm also at the funeral home.
