John D. Spriggs, a devoted family man and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in his home. Born on April 25, 1959, in Columbus, John dedicated much of his life to hard work and service, culminating in a remarkable 38-year career at NEXEO, from which he retired.
Throughout his life, John was known not only for his commitment to his work but also for the joy he found in simple pleasures. He enjoyed swimming. John also cherished his relationships deeply, especially his love for his dogs and the immense joy he took in his grandchildren. His grandkids were a particular source of happiness, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Vickie Spriggs, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. He leaves behind his children: his son, Bill Smith, along with Bill’s wife Tina. John was a proud grandfather to Billy and Kirsten, along with three other grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. Also mourning his loss are his sister-in-law, Rhonda Boos; his niece, Holly Hazlett and her husband Jason; and his great niece and nephews, who held a special place in his heart, as well as his daughter, Heather.
He was predeceased by his father, John Spriggs Sr.; his mother, Janet Bland; and his sister, Cris Reed, to whom he was lovingly devoted.
John’s life will be commemorated with a visitation followed by a funeral service on May 6, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio, 43123. The visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, immediately followed by the funeral service at 4:00 PM.
In remembering John D. Spriggs, family and friends alike will carry forward his legacy of diligence, kindness, and unwavering love. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and in the beautiful memories shared with those he held dear.
