John N. Handley lost his life while waving an illegal fire arm around……just kidding. We all know he liked to tell jokes. If you hadn't heard that one, then you didn't know him very well. John, 70, passed away peacefully at his home on August 16, 2018. John is survived by his amazing care taker and devoted wife of fifty-one years, Barb.
He was a loving father to Jonda and Jody Handley (Jeff & his daughters). Proud PAP to Brittany Vanderpool (Ryan), Gracie Handley, and Jonathon Decker. He is further survived by his brother Loel Handley (Karen), dear friend Keith Gatwood, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert & Laverne Handley and brother Robert Handley. John was a loving father, husband, grandfather and a stranger to no one.
John loved drag racing and had a passion for building one of a kind automobiles. He had many projects featured in highly published magazines throughout the years. He was the proud owner of Southwest 4x4 for over twenty years. He was a legend of his own kind. He was a Vietnam War veteran and was proud to have served his country. He lived life to the fullest.
Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Monday, August 20, 2018 at the funeral home followed by military honors.
