John J. Benedetto, 85, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016. John was born in Columbus, OH on September 4, 1930, to the late Joseph and Mary (Puccetti) Benedetto.
John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann (Whalen) Benedetto; daughters, Debbie (John) Wheelock and Angie (Matt) Bentley; sons, Mark Benedetto and David (Missy) Benedetto; grandchildren, Anthony (Cortney) Wheelock, Megan Wheelock and Nathan Bentley; great-granddaughter, Emmy Jo Wheelock; cousin, Frank (Anita) Pollicaro; the Puccetti Family; longtime friend, Don Crissinger; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, many friends and his beloved dog, "Prince".
John worked for Mrs. Paul's Frozen Foods and owned and operated the "Pipe Dream Lounge" for many years.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at St. Mary Magdalene, 473 S Roys Avenue, Columbus OH 43204.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
