John Emery Crego

May 26, 1929 — November 28, 2017

John (Jack) "Red" Emery Crego, age 88, passed away November 28, 2017 at home surrounded by family. Born in Columbus, OH on May 26, 1929.

Preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Mamie (Scott) Crego; sister Betty (Crego) Rempel.

Survived by beloved wife of 59 years Marcia (Gibbons); children Scott, David (Lori), Lisa (David) Disinger, and Mark (Angie); grandchildren Jon, Jared, Lisa, Jessa, Daniel, Meghan (Trent) White, Madison, and Miley; great-grandson Nash; nephew Steve (Marcia) Rempel; niece Julie (Nick) Rempel Kinkley; extended family and friends.

John graduated from West High School Class of 1947 and continued to be an active Alumni member. He proudly served our country in the United States Army, in Korea. He retired from Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company after 47 years. John was a football official with OHSAA. After retiring he worked at The Ohio State University Golf Courses. Former member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and most recently Galloway Presbyterian Church. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Newcomer, Grove City, from 2-5pm. Service will be Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the funeral home at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John's memory to Mt. Carmel Hospice.
