John "Jack" Edward Gessells

John Gessells, better known as Jack, 90, of Columbus, Ohio, died at Circleville Post Acute Nursing Home on February 28, 2026.

He was born in Columbus in 1935 to Joseph and Ruth Gessells. Jack attended Chillicothe High School and went on to retire from Kroger's after 32 years.

He loved golf and bowling. He made many friends. He was a devout Christian and elder at Hillview Christian Church in Reynoldsburg. Jack now has a home in heaven, being with Jesus and loved ones.

Jack was preceded in death by wife, Martha, daughter, Krista, baby Johnny, and grandson, Cody. He is survived by brother Dick, sons Rick (Crissie), Jeff (Ann), 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Jack was loved and will be missed.

A celebration of life is being held on March 21 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm, at Hillview Christian Church, 9005 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
