John "Louie" "Scooter" L. Price, 63, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016. John was born on July 11, 1953 at the Naval Base Hospital in San Diego, California to John D. and Helen Price. He is preceded in death by his mother, his maternal grandparents as well as his paternal grandparents.
John is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Katherine Price, children, John Eric (Natalie) Price, Isaac (Stephanie) Coakley, Meredith (Michael) Garman and Cassandra (Jason) Schroeder; grandchildren, Amelia, Kientzy, Benjamin, Ellie, Henry and Emma; father, John D. Price; sisters, Shirley Price and Karen Stipkovich. There are also many other family members and friends who will miss John and feel his loss deeply.
John graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1972 where he wrestled and played football. He was a lifelong Boy Scouts of America member, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a professional land surveyor and member of PLSO. He was a member of the Hilltop Church of God.
He was involved in a number of fraternal organizations, chief among them: he was a Mason, out ofWestgate Lodge 623; the men's auxiliary at the VFW Post 4044; a Son of the American Legion and a Legion Rider at the American Legion Post 532; a member of Moose Lodge #11 and a volunteer with Missing In America Project as well as a fervent patriot. John was the perfect example of what a man should be as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's name to the Hilltop Church of God or any veteran's organization.
A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City on Wednesday, July 27 from 5-8 p.m. A second visitation will be held at Hilltop Church of God 635 Whitethorne Avenue, Columbus on Thursday, July 28 beginning at 10 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
