The family of John "Barry" Leach is heartbroken to announce his passing on September 11, 2025, at the age of 84. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen, with whom he shared over 50 wonderful years; their children, Greg, Brad (Courtney Leach), and Meredith (Jason Willis); five cherished grandchildren; and his two sisters, Barbara Leach and Fleming Allaire. Barry is survived by his immediate family and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Born to Harvey and Helen (Fleming) Leach on June 9, 1941, Barry grew up in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he enjoyed a spirited childhood filled with church and school activities, played both basketball and baseball in high school, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. In his senior year, he was nominated for an appointment to the Air Force Academy; however, he chose to follow his father's footsteps by attending The College of William and Mary, where he became a proud member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. After graduating, Barry served in the U.S. Army Reserves before making his mark in the corporate world, becoming the youngest executive at Black & Decker and eventually establishing his own successful business.
Barry had a remarkable ability to connect with others, making everyone feel like a friend. A master of witty timing, his warmth and humor brought joy to both family and friends. Known for his unwavering commitment to his loved ones, he treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren, as well as the moments spent ballroom dancing with Helen.
