John Nolte, 46, originally from Grove City, Ohio, passed away at his home in Michigan of a heart attack early Saturday morning, June 21st.
If any person embodied the phrase "Live Life to the Fullest", it was John. The tales of John's exploits are legendary to those who knew him (and some who didn't). The sheer volume of lives John has touched was matched only by the volume of his unmistakable laugh. He never knew a stranger and would do anything for those he loved.
John was proud to have served in the United States Army stateside as well as overseas in Korea. He was a proud member of the American Legion as well as the Veteran's of Foreign Wars.
John was preceded in death by his father George Nolte, Jr. and survived by his mother, Marguerite (Jamison) Nolte, sisters Teresa (Buzz) Weber, Cheryl Nolte, Sarah (Todd) Barszcz, and nephew Eric (Kara Mays) Weber as well as Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Friends may call on Friday, June 27 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Military services at 4 pm. Funeral service at 7 pm. Please join the family following the service for a celebration of John's life at Plank's on Broadway, 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, in honor of SPC John Nolte and Master Sergeant Shawn Hannon.
