John H. Parr of Gahanna, Ohio died June 17, 2026.

Born February 15, 1933,and raised in Indiana, her served in the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division - from 1953 to 1955 - graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. degree in Marketing in 1960, represented Dunbar furniture Company as a marketing representative in the Northeast; moved to Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1965. In 1970 he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he became a licensed commercial real estate salesman; then in 1987 also managed the professional association of commercial real estate Developers, the South Florida Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). After 21 years, John retired for NAIOP in 2008,; then in 2009 he came out of retirement and became the administrator of the professional real estate organization, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors - Florida Chapter.

In 1970, John joined the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church; where he served as a member of the Diaconate. From 1970 to 1974 he prepared and filed an FCC application for a Class B Educational radio station, which resulted in the permitting of the radio station call letters: WAFG-FM. He also served as President of the Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF) at Westminster Academy.

John's background and interest in radio broadcasting helped him secure an Amateur Radio license, with the FCC assigned call letters of K4JYR.

John is survived by a daughter Sara Coston of Fort Lauderdale; son John M. Parr of Mulheim am Main, Germany; son Rev. Jason A. Parr of Columbus, Ohio; and Bridget Wise of Put-In-Bay, Ohio, and Key West, Florida.

John enjoyed an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, who conquered death and secured the promise of life everlasting for those who believe in Him (John 3:36)

I Thessalonians 4:17 "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
