John W. Blankenship

John W. Blankenship 86 of Obetz passed on March 8, 2015. He was born on April 9, 1928 in Pikeville, KY to Oscar "Condor" & Sarah Jane Blankenship who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 35 years Mary Dorothy who passed in 1979, brothers Henry & Russell, sisters Julie Maynard & Ethel Blankenship. Survivors include children Winston (Jill) Blankenship, daughter's Henrietta (Dennis) Dreisbach, Penny (Chester) Ingold, Carol Ingland. 7 grandchildren John (Lisa), Jennifer (Rod), Cris, Nicky (Josh), Mike, Kyle (Andi), Kimberly, 12 great-grandchildren, Mercedes (Jordan), Farrin (Mike), Madison, Jake (Tiffany), Timmy, Mackenzie, Justice, Ryely, Tatum, Annie, Michael, Rory, and great great-grandchild Penelope. Also surviving is a sister Barbara (Ron) Hoke.
John belonged to the Labor's Union for 40 years, and was retired from R.W. Setterlin Construction. He loved to build, fish, travel and garden.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 1PM Friday March 13 at Newcomer Funeral Home SW, 3393 Broadway Grove City, OH 43123 with a funeral service at 1PM. Burial will follow in Lithopolis Cemetery.
