John Whitehead Sr.

John David Whitehead Sr., 63, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at St. Ann's.
He was born in Celina, OH, son of the late Paul Edward and Norma Jean Dewitt Whitehead.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Whitehead.
He served in the United States Marine Corps. during Vietnam and retired as a Master Sergeant with 21 years of service.
John is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nadine Jarry Whitehead; sons, Jeffrey (Shauna) Whitehead Sr. and John David Whitehead Jr.; stepson, Stephen Miller; step daughters, Elizabeth (Charles) Walker and Barbara (Dan) Finnerty; sisters, Sheena (Billy) Reid and Linda (Ron) Shroyer; grandchildren, David, Jacob, Caleb, Jaimee, Jeffrey Jr., Larissa, Robert and Alexis; step grandson, Demetryus Bright and many great grandchildren.
Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
